Jewelry Frame

My first craft blogpost!  I made this jewelry frame a while back after being inspired by my friend, Christine's jewelry frame (check it out on her blog!).  Here's how I made it:

Supplies:
  • Frame (no backing necessary; I bought mine at Michael's).
  • Paint and paintbrush (if you don't like original color)
  • Styrofoam board
  • Cute scrapbook paper
  • Glue stick and hot glue gun
  • Cute straight pins (I got pearlized head straight pins from Joann's)
1) If you don't like original color of the frame, paint it (I bought the plain wooden one so I painted it a dark blue color).
2) Cut the styrofoam board to fit the back of the frame.
3) Cut scrapbook paper to fit styrofoam board.  Mine required two sheets of the paper and they didn't line up quite perfectly so I used ribbon to cover the overlap and also added more ribbon as rows for the pins.
4) Glue paper on board.
5) Use hot glue gun to stick board to back of frame after paint has dried.
6) Stick on pins in rows.
7) Hang all your beautiful earrings!

I had the hubs nail in a frame hanger hook thing on the back so I could hang it up on our bathroom wall.  I love that it's so functional and artsy at the same time!
